Pastel, Charcoal

My work investigates the relationship between the natural world and human-made structures through photography, light, material, and drawing. I create immersive 3D installations where layered imagery and shifting light dissolve boundaries between the organic and the constructed, inviting viewers to experience new perceptions of space and connection.
These works often use translucency and reflection to explore how light transforms material and alters our sense of presence. Recently, I have begun translating these spatial explorations into black-and-white pastel drawings, using tonal depth, texture, and contrast to evoke atmosphere and spatial ambiguity on paper.
Drawing allows me to distill complex, multi-layered environments into quiet, contemplative compositions that mirror the meditative qualities of my installations. Influenced by Tadao Ando’s architectural precision and James Turrell’s immersive use of light, my practice examines how material and memory shape the ways we inhabit and perceive space.
