Beautiful Scrubland Nail Can Hill

Nail Can Hill is a bushland that first glance could seem to be innocuous, with broken branches, weedy grasses and scraggly trees. However, if one takes time to ‘slow look’ and regard more closely the curious nuances, the sometimes-whimsical forms and delicate intricacies, it becomes a gentle and thought-provoking landscape. My objective is to bring these observations and ideas to my painting, where every inch of the painting honours and respects this beautiful scrubland.
