Let Fly The Magpie Geese

The wrong hand, the right moment, Let Fly The Magpie Geese. Using my non-dominant hand, I surrender myself to an intentional abandonment of precision, inviting spontaneity and embracing unpredictability, into my drawing. I chase the illusive concept of intuitive mark making, building movement, energy and form through instinctive linework that feels both spontaneous, yet organically deliberate. The process feels vulnerable, but the marks made remain honest and unguarded. Drawing with this approach preserves the intimacy and energy of the first impression, translating the fleeting sensory experience into something tangible. The resulting linework is layered, awkward and gestural, shaped by the tension between intention and accident, control and release. Every contributing mark remains visible and unpolished – humming with a restless chaotic energy. The subject emerges delicately – raw, imperfect, infused with vitality and movement. I draw to immerse myself in these moments, to respond instinctively, and to reconnect with wildness.
