Hand stitched maps on paper

The legends on the edges of geological survey maps have been reclaimed and stitched together to form this fictitious map. Central Victoria where I live has minimal areas of original bushland due to the impacts of gold mining which literally turned the ground upside down and resulted in wholesale destruction of the forests and natural environment. Through the meticulous process of extracting, cutting and stitching paper by hand, I contemplate what has been lost through an enactment of replace and repair.
