Cracked Autumn.

2025

Inks, acrylic, copper pigments, gold wax and graphite on torn archival arches watercolour paper mounted on board.

Cracked Autumn was created during a period of reflection, when I was drawn to how change and stillness co-exist in nature. The work explores the quiet tension between breakdown and renewal—how something can feel fragile and yet hold strength.
I work intuitively, letting the ink flow, stain, and drip, building layers that speak to both control and release. The central form feels like a breath or pause -a space where something is shifting but not yet defined.
Touches of gold act as small moments of light—reminders that even in decay, there is beauty and the potential for renewal. Inspired by seasonal transitions and the subtle rhythms of the natural world, this piece, for me, is about accepting change and finding balance in uncertainty.
