Flag of Surrender

Hand knitted using bleached paper string, this Flag of Surrender will not fly. The nature of the knitted paper structure, made up by stocking stitch squares in opposing tensions will not be raised by a gust of wind. This thread like mycelium flag work speaks to binary patterns of counting and making stitches, defining the very human concept of time. Defiantly, this Flag does not fly therefore, does not surrender to the Anthropocene Epoch: whereby humans have disrupted the earth so profoundly resulting in distinct geographical change.
