photomontage screen print

Australia produces around 700 million chickens per year for consumption. In 1951 this figure was around 3.5 million.
The environmental impact of this monocultural industry is immense, altering the chemistry of our soils and waterways. Most of these beautiful social birds will never see the sky. They will never know there is a thing called human kindness. Photomontage screen print on Fabriano Rosaspina 285gsm. The image takes elements from 19th century intaglio prints behind and inside the chicken silhouette. The image is then converted to bitmap in 3-4 layers and printed on film for transfer in the darkroom onto screens, and hand printed.
