Fine line pen and marker on paper mounted to board

This work is a diary of dreaming about all things in this phenomenal world. The plants, animals and features of the earth overcoming historical damage, along with humans and their creations show the power of nature. Snippets from the flight and plight of the critically endangered Swift parrots on their way to Lutrawita, hence the number reference as it is estimated there could be as few as 500 mature birds remaining – facing extinction due to habitat loss, development and agriculture.

Snippets from years of my own life living on the land in central Victoria, getting my hands dirty, raising two girls, growing vines and olives, while making art. Since returning to the city, I’m drawn to and involved with Mt Rothwell Sanctuary and their rabbit eradication program. Now I’m researching Thomas Austin, who brought in the rabbits on Christmas Day, 1959. I live near the Birrarung, the Yarra River.
