Environmental degradation and species loss with its multiplicity of causes including profligate water usage, unsustainable farming practices, spewing forth of chemicals, clearing of land engendering loss of habitat, concern me greatly.
Imagine a world without delicate beauty of a native flower, shade of a majestic tree, forest to roam in, beautiful fluttering butterflies, the chorus of birdsong.
The Journal of Lost Opportunities references the many opportunities that we as humans have had to change this trajectory of destruction that we have rained on the earth. Scientific advances and better education mean we have the resources to act. Can we do it?
The journal takes the form of a concertina book, the pages illuminating aspects of the topic. Layers of various media engender subtlety and mystique adding visual depth, drawing the viewer to greater appreciation of the artistry and welcoming closer inspection to promote a better understanding of the issues.
