A bird in the hand

My drawing is a celebration of our country’s sublime flora and fauna. Frequent travels between Melbourne/Naarm and Moama/NSW inspire the love I have for the natural world.
I feel my work is a way of documenting the ever changing landscape and our native wildlife which are at risk of disappearing without a trace. By creating arrangements of found objects and photographs I allow the drawing and my ideas to unfold slowly, using gently symmetry to assimilate the reflections created by rivers and waterholes. I return to each drawing and gradually enhance it until I feel it is united.
