According to Carl Jung, the ‘collective unconscious’ is made up of a collection of knowledge and imagery that every person is born with and is shared by all human beings due to ancestral experience.

Furthermore, ‘collective conscience’ is a sociological concept that refers to common ideas, attitudes, beliefs, and knowledge that are shared amongst a community. This includes knowledge about place and nature – how the natural world works, nurtures us and need to be cared for in return.

These unifying rituals and the knowledge shared between individuals and communities are sometimes handed down from our elders, sometimes shared through experience. This unseen ‘library’ is filled with stories that are the wealth of humanity.

We do not want to be without it, because it feeds the library of everyone’s knowledge, and in this specific case, a nurturing of bees and their environment will ensure our food security.
