The Grampians Bitter-pea (Daviesia laevis) was thought to be extinct and is now listed as critically endangered by the Victorian Government. It is 1 of 70+ plant species endemic to the Grampians / Gariwerd region.

Botanical Artist Dolores Skowronski-Malloni admires the diversity, beauty and resilience of these endemic plants and is passionately creating a botanical art record to document and celebrate these plants for current and future generations.
Dolores hopes to inspire awareness and appreciation of these rare and significant plants, and interest and support for their conservation, especially in light of the recent devastating bushfires.

This botanical illustration was created in watercolour pencil and it was rendered in a classical approach with simplicity and accuracy to give justice to the nature and details of the plant. The specimen illustrated in this work is from the plant growing in the Grampians / Gariwerd Endemic Botanic Garden at WAMA.
