Paper Pigeon

Papier mache, waste plastic, paint

Birds of all kinds fill my garden every morning. The pigeons are always first to appear, lined up on the shed roof. They are also the most humble and patient, retreating when threatened by other birds, seemingly satisfied with any left over seed.
I wonder how well they might adapt to the changing climate, will they prove to be resilient? I wonder also about hybrid bird forms that might evolve to better survive habitats affected by increasing temperatures, rising seas (I live on an island); what might come out of the debris of the Anthropocene?
This is one of a series of pieces that I have shaped entirely from waste paper, plastic and left over paint.
