Whether it be in an industrial urban landscape or a vast windswept paddock I am often surprised and in wonder at the survival of native flora. It might be a fissure between concrete and brick where a tree takes up residence, persisting despite an alien and inhospitable environment. Establishing an ecology for survival, breaking ground, marking a spot and quietly resisting.
