Tides of Trash

found plastic

During a recent beach holiday I was deeply disheartened to see how much micro plastic was being washed ashore.

Tides of Trash transforms ocean debris into a marine creature, highlighting the effect of plastic waste on wildlife, with sea turtles being particularly vulnerable. The use of recognisable plastic items directly connects the viewer to the source of the problem, making the abstract concept of pollution personal. This work aims to raise awareness, provoke a dialogue about consumerism and encourage action to protect these ancient and endangered animals.
