oil on photographic paper

Working with lumen printing and paint, I collaborate with the salt lake environment I have been immersed in to explore the traces left by natural forces. Fragments of salt, rocks, and mineral remains create delicate imprints on photographic paper shaped by light, sun, and time. Responding to these spontaneous marks, I paint over the surface, allowing a quiet exchange to unfold between artist and environment. My process is one of observation and respect — learning from the patterns formed through chance, weather, and elemental change. Rather than impose, I seek to complement the marks made by nature, acknowledging its quiet authority. The salt lakes, with their shifting and fragile beauty, reveal both resilience and impermanence. Through this dialogue of light and pigment, I aim to honour their presence — moments where nature and hand move together in balance.
