Unspoken is a large hand painted/printed artist book with digitally printed images inserted throughout the book. Pages of a transformed landscape from land clearing after the Black Summer fires in Victoria 2019-2020 the products of the present climate change conditions. It looks at an ongoing climate future. There are many layers that explore continent, land and place. The pages have an internal sense of comprehension, a silent graphic meditation on existential questions of loss and reconstruction, painted pages of unspoken stories, a reaction to the monsters and acts of destruction. I see this book as a shelter from unbecoming things, the future that lies in wait. A book of hope and laments.
The only text in the book is its title apart from the colophon. It’s a tactile book of Japanese tissue paper, Magnani Meirat and Arches papers. the book is housed in a purpose built clamshell box.
